Damping of inter-area oscillations by combining control strategies in hydropower plants

چکیده

Abstract This paper examines how the damping capability can be improved if inter-area oscillations occur by combining control strategies in hydropower plants. First, challenges of plants, such as water hammer effect, are discussed. In a single-machine infinite bus system (SMIBS), use Power System Stabilizer (PSS) generator excitation and governor path well combination both examined for their effectiveness terms capability. addition, these results compared with an optimal state space controller observer element. The Heffron-Phillips model is design PSS model-based controller. verification through variants evaluated using three-machine time domain modal analysis.
